Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 12 May 2025  |  Effective Date: 12 May 2025

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Ayutthaya Counsel website (the "Site") and the provision of legal services by Ayutthaya Counsel (the "firm", "we", "us", "our"), a legal services practice based at 31 Ratchadaphisek Road, Din Daeng, Bangkok 10400, Thailand.

By using this Site or engaging our services, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site and do not proceed with engaging our services.

These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

2. Legal Services

Ayutthaya Counsel provides legal services in connection with inheritance and estate matters in Thailand. Our services include, but are not limited to:

  • Inheritance Rights Assessment — a written assessment of an heir's or family's legal position (฿4,600)
  • Executor Support Service — ongoing guidance and document preparation for executors (฿9,800)
  • Estate Litigation Representation — formal representation in inheritance disputes and court proceedings (฿17,500)

Service fees are stated in Thai Baht (THB). The scope of each engagement and the applicable fee are confirmed in a written engagement letter provided before work commences. No engagement is formed until an engagement letter has been signed by both parties.

We reserve the right to decline any instruction at our discretion and without being required to give reasons, subject to any applicable professional obligations.

3. Website Content Is Not Legal Advice

The content published on this Site is intended for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice, nor does it create a solicitor–client relationship. The law applicable to any individual situation may differ from general descriptions on this Site.

Nothing on this Site should be relied upon as a substitute for specific legal advice relevant to your personal circumstances. If you require legal assistance, please contact us directly to discuss your matter.

4. Enquiries and Client Relationship

Submitting an enquiry through our website contact form does not constitute the formation of a client relationship with the firm. A client relationship is established only upon:

  • A discussion or consultation in which we have confirmed our ability to act;
  • Completion of our client identification and conflict-check procedures; and
  • Execution of a written engagement letter.

Until these steps are complete, no confidentiality obligations or professional duties attach to information provided through the Site or by initial correspondence.

5. Fees and Payment

Our published service fees represent the base charges for clearly defined scopes of work. Where a matter develops beyond the agreed scope, we will discuss any adjustment to fees with you before proceeding.

Fees are payable in Thai Baht (THB). Payment terms, methods, and any disbursement arrangements will be set out in the engagement letter. We do not accept payment in cryptocurrency or foreign currency without prior written agreement.

We may require an advance payment or retainer before commencing work. Details will be provided in the engagement letter.

All fees quoted are exclusive of applicable taxes, court filing fees, government charges, and third-party disbursements, unless expressly stated otherwise.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — including text, design, layout, and code — is the property of Ayutthaya Counsel or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any part of this Site for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

You may print or save pages for your personal, non-commercial reference. Any other use requires written permission from the firm.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable Thai law, Ayutthaya Counsel shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from:

  • Reliance on the general information published on this Site;
  • Interruptions to, or errors in, the operation of this Site;
  • Unauthorised access to data transmitted via this Site;
  • Any events beyond our reasonable control.

Where liability arises in connection with legal services provided, our liability is governed by the terms of the applicable engagement letter and any applicable professional regulations.

8. Third-Party Links

This Site may contain links to external websites for your convenience. Ayutthaya Counsel does not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content of those sites. Visiting external sites is at your own discretion.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Thailand. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Thailand.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating this page with a new effective date. Continued use of this Site following any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
